The weather station used for KomokaWeather is the Davis Vantage Pro 2 wireless weather station. This personal weather station consists of several sensors for collection raw data for wind, rain, temperature, humidity and barometric pressure that is constantly being transmitted to a wireless console receiver in the house. In addition to the wireless reception console used to observe ongoing and historical weather statistics here in Komoka, a Davis Wireless Weather Envoy with data logger is used to also receive and record the same raw data from the weather station on an ongoing live basis. The weather station is situated in the north east corner of our property. The data logger can store the received data as well as having it downloaded onto the computer. A dedicated computer runs continuous and with software to process the downloaded data.
The weather station was installed in July 2008 and has been very reliable, only requiring periodic removal of debris that may collect in the rain gauge, and a battery replacement inthe outside station. The website was started in December 2009 with ongoing edits.
The Sandaysoft Cumulus software processes the data from the Envoy/data logger and produces various statistical views and historical records on the computer. It further uploads the data to Komokaweather.ca and Komokaweather.com which then provides users with access to live weather data here in Komoka, Canada.
In addition to the upload to our website the data is also uploaded to other universally accessible weather services.
Continuous upload to Weather Underground WeatherUnderground.com provides the current and historical data uploaded to this site on a regular basis. Here you can also compare KomokaWeather with other weather stations’ data in the London, Ontario area, as well as weather information from stations across the world.
Continuous upload to the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) findu.com displays uploaded data and is also a data integrity monitor by comparing with other local weather stations data. Click on the Quality control graph link for DW3930 to see this station's comparison.
Continuous upload to Personal Weather Stations (PWS) pwsweather.com displays data and graphs that can be viewed on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
A live link to the Ontario Weather Network Ontario Weather Network.net shows the station location and current weather information in other parts of Ontario, with links to similar weather networks across the globe. Other links are provided for quick access to weather forecasting and various weather resources such as Environment Canada, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service (NOAA), the Canadian Weather Network, and more. Links are also provided to on-line forums specializing in weather and weather related equipment and services.
In May 2010 a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 was added and using Yawcam streams the live video from here in Komoka, but the computer connection location limits the available view. Perhaps I can overcome this in the future. This webcam also sends images to Weather Underground at once per minute and also saved there as a daily video.

This is a new hobby and very much to learn so over time the website will continue to be updated. wxforum.net is a favourite and sandaysoft.com is an excellent resource for Cumulus.
